News Retrofit Projects Keep Surging for ERMA FIRST BWTS

On the 19th of the October 2017, ERMA FIRST received the USCG Type Approval using a technology of forty microns (40 µm) filtration followed by full flow electrolysis Ballast Water Treatment System (BWTS). It was a great achievement and a very important milestone after nearly a decade in the ballast water industry.

Responding to the environmental challenges and complying with both IMO Ballast water Convention and USCG ETV protocol requirements, whilst following the market’s needs in order to support its customers, ERMA FIRST has achieved to hold a leading position in the global market.

From January 2017 until January of 2018, the company has signed contractual agreement with well-established companies and shipyards worldwide for the installation of 193 Ballast Water treatment systems onboard 139 vessels, 50 of which were for retrofit projects and more than 20 have been already ordered and are to be announced in 2018. Due to the fact that all abovementioned projects include vessels of all types and sizes, such us tankers, bulk carriers, container ships, LNGs, LPGs and yachts from 4,000 – 180,000 DWT ERMA FIRST has gained the trust of the market having already successfully installed Ballast Water Systems at a range of 75-3000 m3/hr.
