On the 19th of the October 2017, ERMA FIRST received the USCG Type Approval using a technology of forty microns (40 µm) filtration followed by full flow electrolysis Ballast Water Treatment System (BWTS). It was a great achievement and a very important milestone after nearly a decade in the ballast water industry.
